Whimsy Stamps Halloween Hop

It’s finally here! The final Spooktacular Whimsy Stamps Halloween Hop of 2024. We have had such fun sharing the lead up to Halloween with you! We have also been having fun with some cool items from Studio Light this month that were generously provided to our design team. We’ve all had such fun with these crafty elements and can’t wait to share our spooky creations with you all! One randomly chosen lucky hopper is in for a fabulous prize pack from Studio Light and one randomly chosen lucky hopper is in for a $50 Gift Certificate from Whimsy Stamps. My card features the Accolade Plywood Layered Scenery base from Studio Light.  I painted the entire base black and brushed it with Weathered Wood Distress Oxide Ink. I used Weather Wood again on black cardstock with the It’s Coudy stencil.  I splattered it with a watered-down mixture of the Glow in the Dark (GITD) paint.  I die cut the bats from GITD foil but waited to adhere them to the back until I knew where the tombstones were going.

I die cut the gravestones from grey cardstock, stamped them with various epitaphs from the stamp set and used Black Soot distress oxide ink around the edges.  I also die cut the fences from grey cardstock and distressed those as well. Both skulls are die cut from the GITD foil, and I also placed a bit of foil behind the cat’s cut out eyes. 

I found the easiest way to apply the images to each layer was to place the layers on top of each other, noting what I wanted peeking out (or hidden) from the other layers. It took a little bit of back and forth before I got everything lined up just right.   I then glued each image into place, double-checking against the other layers along the way.  I applied a little fake moss to the back layers and as well the front.
